The Oklahoma State University Museum of Art is a rapidly-expanding group
of facilities and collections. Currently, the Museum consists of a
collection of approximately 3,000 objects ranging from ancient Greece to
the present day, and spanning five continents. The collection and primary
storage facility is housed in the newly renovated Postal Plaza Gallery, a
WPA era post office built in 1933. Located in downtown Stillwater, the
Postal Plaza Gallery helps the OSU Museum of Art reach both university
students and the broader community. Deliberately designed to serve our
teaching mission, the Postal Plaza Gallery is a classroom with a third of
the facility dedicated to storage and the other two thirds devoted to
exhibitions. Long-term plans include development of an education classroom
and exhibition space in the lower level of the building to support K-12
outreach programs.

The Curator of Education is responsible for establishing and overseeing
the education programs for the OSU Museum of Art. He/she will work closely
with staff to coordinate curricular-based collections access and use.

programs and public activities for the museum. In addition, the Curator of
Education is responsible for the K-12 Museum partnerships and in-service
workshops for teachers, supervising the volunteer program, and managing
student staff training. The curator will also participate as an active
member of the curatorial team for the museum and be given opportunities for
audience-based collections research, publication, and professional growth.
