The San Francisco State University Museum Studies Program seeks candidates for the position of digital preservation in museums at the rank of Assistant or Associate Professor, effective Fall 2014. The successful applicant will possess museum professional experience in all areas of digital preservation in museums and will be knowledgeable about digital media, digital curation, mobile experiences, digitization strategies, and digital asset management. Experience in art museums is preferred. The candidate will also be engaged in critical discourse surrounding digital preservation in museums, be able to bridge theory and practice, and have a strong interest in how museums communicate with the public. Ph.D. or equivalent degree preferred, but applicants with distinguished professional experience and a Master’s degree will be considered. University teaching experience preferred.
