The Museum is seeking a person with excellent people, organizational, clerical and computer skills to provide essential administrative support to the Assistant Director and Chief Curator. You will provide general administrative, clerical and curatorial assistance primarily in the collection area of 19th- and early 20th-century paintings, sculpture, and works on paper; occasionally assisting in other collection areas, such as Greek and Roman antiquities. This position supports researching and cataloguing of the permanent collection, acquisitions, and assigned projects. Additionally, you will assist with exhibition preparation, publications, and permanent collection installations. Also will handle requests for information and general inquiries and provides clerical assistance with departmental tasks including telephone inquiries, correspondence, serving as liaison with other Museum departments, visitors and patrons. Processes incoming Rights and Reproductions requests and assists Assistant Director/Chief Curator with preparation of annual Curatorial Department budgets; compilation and editing of Curatorial portion of Strategic Plan; and logistical coordination of curatorial-led meetings including Collections Committee, Exhibitions and Programs, and weekly Curatorial meeting (submits event request form, coordinates set up with Facilities, drafts agenda, addresses projection needs, sends reminder, etc.).

This position requires a Bachelor of Arts degree in Art or Art History, and previous museum experience is preferred. Ideal candidate will have a mastery of MS Office Suite and be a proactive efficiency expert with excellent attention to detail, good follow-through, ability to exercise discretion with confidential information, and excellent communication skills.
