Program Assistant: for the Newport Restoration Foundation’s active and growing

education and public programming department. This position assists with developing and

implementing programming for three museum sites as well as other educational programs

and tours.

 

Qualifications: At least 1 year experience working with the public in an educational or

customer service capacity required, preferably in a museum setting. Candidate should

possess exceptional interpersonal and communication skills; be able to organize and manage

multiple details without losing sight of the larger mission; and be flexible, good natured and

self-motivated. Bachelor’s degree required, Master’s desired, in education, museum studies,

art history, history, historic preservation, or related field.

 

Duties: Assist in creating, planning and implementing public programs, events and

interpretive initiatives; conduct tours and educational programs (particularly at Rough

Point); carry out administrative tasks (e.g. manage group tour reservations, scheduling,

clerical work); work as team within the education department to fulfill NRF’s mission.
