Shelburne Museum in Shelburne, Vermont is seeking a Curatorial Assistant.  This position is a full-time, 2 year opportunity. The ideal candidate will provide administrative and project support to Curatorial department of four under the guidance of the Curator of Design Arts. Emphasis of the position is paintings, with a broad range of folk and decorative arts reflective of the Museum’s diverse collections. Respond to public inquiries for information on potential gifts and scholarly inquiries regarding the Museum collection. Conduct tours of the Museum and lectures for donors, lenders and professionals from other institutions. Participate in exhibit design and implementation. Research and select objects for temporary and permanent exhibitions. Write and prepare text panels, labels and associated brochures/catalog entries for exhibit projects. Other duties as assigned.
