Please Touch Museum®, the Children’s Museum of Philadelphia®, a non- profit organization, seek Education Coordinators to design and execute multi-faceted educational programs and activities for young children, their families, and groups.

The Education Coordinator responsibilities are: design and implement comprehensive educational play experiences for museum audiences; provide a regular weekly presence on gallery floor; train gallery facilitators, interns, and volunteers on museum programming; act as Point of contact and department representative for committees, events, and programs; track assigned spending, budgets, and supplies; assist in departmental and divisional administrative duties as assigned; organize and maintain programming supplies and areas; assist with the development of new/innovative programming related to varied educational disciplines and museum initiatives;act as role model for adult visitors to encourage open-ended, child directed play with children; and generate new ideas for possible partnerships, grants, sponsorship, and programming

Requirements are: Bachelor’s degree in a related field (e.g. Education, Museum Studies, Liberal Arts) required; minimum of one year experience teaching children aged 0-8 in a formal and/or informal setting; proven experience in program and curriculum design; must be flexible and able to adapt quickly in front of an audience. Performance experience preferred; excellent interpersonal, oral, and written communication skills, including the ability to serve as an enthusiastic ambassador for the Museum; excellent computer skills and familiarity with email communication tools; ability to prioritize and plan work activities and use time efficiently;ability to work with many different museum audiences; ability to work well under pressure, meet deadlines and effectively handle multiple assignments; must be able to lift 30 pounds; must be able to work a flexible schedule including regular weekend day and occasional evening events; may require local traveling and Valid driver’s license strongly preferred.
