The American Textile History Museum (ATHM) seeks a creative, motivated team-player for the position of Customer Service Representative. This position is the front line representative for the Museum; welcoming guests and providing information to inspire and engage our visitors, the community, students, educators, and families. Reporting to the Director of Finance and Administration, the Visitor Service Representative will assist Museum staff in the outreach of the Museum. The Visitor Service Representative is an hourly non-exempt full-time position with hours typically 9-5 Wednesday through Sunday. Other administrative duties may require time on some Mondays and Tuesdays. The person in this position is responsible for the physical opening and closing of the Museum and gift shop, greets all visitors to the Museum and answers incoming phone calls. The Visitor Service Representative plays an essential role in providing visitors and friends with a high quality, interactive, and engaging Museum experience. Some of the Job Responsibilities: • Opens the museum to visitors at the established time. • Closes the museum to visitors at the established time. Ensures that the building is empty of visitors and that all doors are locked. • Greets all visitors pleasantly, answers their questions and takes steps to enhance their experience at the museum. • Greets and processes group tour admissions. This includes verifying the accuracy of the count and collecting payment. • Conduct telephone, written, electronic and oral communications with guests, staff, and administration.
