The Senior Membership Manager supervises all Membership staff and collaborates with the EVP of Development to continually create new and unique individual membership campaigns to secure funds to carry out the organization’s mission and vision. This position is responsible for cultivating and implementing a strategic plan for individual donors and membership, as well as executing corresponding fundraising events and managing the direct mail campaign.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS

Lead the Individual Giving fundraising team, providing vision and strategic direction, as well as proactively addressing and managing any issues that arise.
Manage the Individual Giving Annual Planning and Budget process and achieve strategic objective and revenue targets.
Continually develop and maintain an Individual Giving program with over 25,000 expected members that delivers strong donor loyalty and builds donor lifetime value.
Identify and develop new opportunities for Individual Giving, in both donor acquisition and donor development.
Liaise closely with internal departments (Operations, IT) to ensure an overall strategically coordinated approach to fundraising.
Oversee relationships with outside vendors (fulfilment, direct marketing) to ensure accurate and timely communications between the organization and donors.
Provide weekly and monthly progress reports to EVP of Development, Deputy Director of Development, and Finance.
Management:

Supervise all Membership staff and set goals for team members and support and provide training and development.
Oversee all RFP processes and oversee the appointment of suppliers to support fundraising.
Oversee all contracts with suppliers for the Individual Giving program
Oversee data processing and fulfillment of membership and donations by vendors.
Job Requirements
Bachelor’s Degree required.
Minimum of 5 years of experience in leading an organization’s Individual Membership/Giving program with at least 10,000 members, preferably within a museum environment, with a proven track record of innovative ideas that led to successful campaigns.
Minimum of 5 years of direct supervisory experience.
Strong interpersonal and leadership skills as evidenced by a cohesive team and successful fundraising.
Strong time management skills, with the ability to prioritize and the willingness to do whatever it takes to ensure a task is completed in a timely manner.
Outstanding organizational skills and attention to detail, with the skills to manage multiple priorities and adhere to tight deadlines.
Ability to think strategically and proactively; skilled at identifying possible issues and taking immediate action to solve issues that arise.
Computer proficiency with Microsoft Office and database systems required. Experience with Raiser’s Edge, Drupal, and Gateway strongly preferred.
