Responsible for exhibition development and execution including calendars, checklists, loan requests, loan agreements and/or contracts, layout, design, and shipping. Plan and manage exhibition installation and deinstallation schedules, overseeing teams of preparators and contractors. Ensure safe handling and environmental conditions, including light levels, temperature and relative humidity for works of art on exhibit, in storage and in transit. Maintain collection files, both paper records and electronic database, including data entry, filing, research, scanning , photography, and general public requests. Maintain cleanliness and organization of onsite and offsite storage facilities. Develop and administer permanent collection and exhibition budgets and expenses. Process incoming acquisitions of works of art according to the museum’s Collections Management Policy. Manage rights and reproduction policies. Hire and oversee contract labor including art handlers, A/V specialists, general contractors, electricians, shippers, conservators and photographers. Assist other departments as necessary.

Job Requirements
Qualifications

-Minimum of three years professional experience in a museum environment with an emphasis on registration and exhibitions.
-Knowledge of art handling techniques and best practices.
-Knowledge and experience using database systems, photography skills, scanners and Photoshop.
-Possesses a current drivers’ license and ability to drive vans and trucks to transport art.
-Ability to deal effectively with deadlines and time pressures.
