The Virginia Museum of Fine Arts is looking for an individual to plan and manage digital learning technologies that support education related projects and initiatives. Under the general direction of the Interpretation Manager, this position will collaborate with museum stakeholders to identify, develop and implement digital experiences that will enhance visitor learning and enjoyment of the permanent collection and special exhibitions. This position will research and evaluate potential Education projects and their feasibility; organize the planning and implementation schedule of approved projects; and coordinate the project production with staff throughout the Museum and outside contractors as needed. Projects may include but are not limited to digital educational resources, webinars, and video production. As a member of the Education team, this position will also have responsibilities for projects and initiatives specific to the Department such as its web pages, education resources website and educational social media accounts.
Job Requirements

Qualifications: Applicants must have a BA or Master’s degree in Educational Technology or equivalent experience with educational technology in museums,higher education, schools or online learning environments. Knowledge of art and art history a plus. The selected candidate will have knowledge and demonstrated experience in online course development, instructional design, social networking,webinar, webcast, video and audio production and conferencing, learning management systems, blogging software, app production, etc. and the potential of emerging platforms for future educational software. Additionally, he/she will have superior analytical, research, project management, budgeting, communication and interpersonal skills. He/she must also be extremely organized, detail-oriented,enthusiastic, flexible and highly creative. Selected candidate is required to pass a criminal background check.
