Description
The National September 11 Memorial Museum opened at the World Trade Center site in May 2014. Its exhibitions cover the events of 9/11, the antecedents, and the aftermath. They also honor the memory of the 2,977 people killed at the World Trade Center, at the Pentagon, and on the four planes in 2001, and the six people killed when a bomb went off at the World Trade Center in 1993.

These exhibitions encompass more than 80,000 square feet and involve physical design, artifacts installed on open mounts and in cases, graphics of a variety of production techniques, and extensive media installations. Many of the exhibitions are long-term, and artifacts, graphics, and media will rotate on an annual schedule. More extensive design activity will take place in the Museum’s temporary exhibition spaces, including a gallery for photographic and other two-dimensional work and a 3,500-square-foot temporary exhibition space.

The Exhibition Designer is expected to develop 2D and 3D design and support production for the Museum’s exhibitions. The Exhibition Designer will report to the Exhibition Project Manager and will work with the Vice President for Exhibitions.
