Curator of Education for Museum of Florida History (official state history museum). Responsible for planning and development of museum programs that serves diverse statewide audiences and to promote learning and appreciation of Florida’s history and culture.

Develops, implements and evaluates educational and visitor service programs for local and statewide audiences of state history museum.

As a team member works to achieve conceptual planning, development, and evaluation of all Museum activities, exhibitions, publications, and programs that maintains operations to the highest professional standards established by AAM.

Supervises development, implementation, and scheduling of on-site and outreach programs, tours, special events, lectures, and workshops. Supervises and conducts research of educational materials. Supervises Statewide Educational Services, including the Florida History Fair.

Administers the Education section, including staff supervision, development, and performance evaluation, budget preparation, fiscal and property control. Coordinates section activities with other section heads and the museum director.

Obtains and administers grants related to Museum of Florida History and Knott House programs.

Supervises museum volunteer programs and training of volunteers.

Participates in the Museum’s collections committee

Carries out special projects as assigned by the Museum director. Performs other duties as required.
Job Requirements

Education Requirement:

Bachelor’s degree in history, humanities, anthropology, museums studies, education, or related field. Preferred requirement of a Master’s degree in above mentioned fields.

Experience Requirement:

At least five years’ experience in museum education.
