Working under the direction of the Associate Director for Marketing Communications, the Social Media & Marketing Coordinator is responsible for assisting in the creation, maintenance, and management of successful marketing and publicity campaigns for The Trustees of Reservations. This position will have a particular focus on social media but will provide support for other marketing efforts as well.
Responsibilities:
Social Media: Develops, implements, and analyzes integrated social media strategies and campaigns. Candidate must:
Be entrenched in a variety of popular and niche social media platforms to execute social ad campaigns across digital channels and maintain day-to-day engagement and content for a select group of social communities
Keep current by researching the most appropriate new means of digital communication
Become an expert in Hootsuite to manage The Trustees social media outreach. Measure results using Hootsuite and Google Analytics and use to optimize strategy and ROI
Creates and distributes The Trustees’ monthly enewsletters, including content creation and tracking of results, using Convio e-CRM program
Assists with creation and implementation of online marketing campaigns targeted to increasing and retaining membership and increasing organizational visibility and awareness, which can include development of online marketing collateral; and tracking campaign results
Supports marketing for our events and enterprises (inns, historic houses, and merchandising), which will can include magazine and online listings, and development and editing of online ads and marketing campaigns
Manages Trustees Google AdWords campaigns, including reviewing and analyzing results and making adjustments as appropriate
Assists with natural search engine optimization of The Trustees’ main website and micro-sites, including keyword research and tracking
Assists with writing, editing, creation, and maintenance of pages on The Trustees website, including assisting with maintenance of our online events database
Researches and manages The Trustees’ presence on external websites and blogs, including strategic linking and program-specific directory sites
Stays up-to-date on emerging media opportunities
Some travel required
Other duties as assigned
Qualifications:
Bachelors degree in Marketing, Communications or similar field
Minimum of 3 – 5 years experience, including relevant social media experience
Social media savvy
Understanding of direct e-mail marketing
Understanding of search engine optimization
Ability to multi-task and prioritize numerous projects in various states of development
Demonstrated skill writing promotional copy for online channels
Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills needed, as well as creativity
Experience with Convio e-customer relationship management system a plus
Extensive experience with Microsoft Word and Excel required. Working knowledge of Photoshop; basic html a plus
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Must be a self-starter and highly motivated. Attention to detail a must. Able to establish and meet deadlines and to establish clear priorities quickly
Must be a team player with interpersonal skills needed to gain respect, rapport, and credibility
Personal and professional commitment to work collaboratively with Trustees colleagues, members, volunteers, and partners to foster a spirit of creativity and cooperation
Strong interest in working for a conservation organization
Hours, Salary & Benefits:
As a full-time employee, the Social Media Coordinator is eligible for benefits offered by the Trustees, including medical and dental insurance, life and disability insurance, vacation, sick and personal time, as well as the option to participate in our 401(k) savings plan. Salary is commensurate with experience.
