The Center for Italian Modern Art (CIMA), which opened in Soho in February 2014, is dedicated to promoting the study and appreciation of twentieth-century Italian art–through its fellowships, annual exhibition installations, and a variety of public programming. The candidate will provide support to the director in the effective day-to-day functioning of the foundation; management of weekly public tours and special events; supervision of CIMA’s fellows; oversight of the foundation’s website and social media accounts; production of CIMA’s journal, periodic newsletter, and other documents; registrar work related to the annual installations; and the maintenance of appropriate financial records.

CIMA is looking for a candidate who is versed in modern and, preferably, also contemporary art; has excellent written and oral skills and, if possible, some editorial experience; is organized, detail oriented, able to multi-task and problem solve; diplomatic and willing to work closely with a small group on a daily basis; and who demonstrates sensitivity in managing confidential matters.

Requirements:
BA. Facility with at least one foreign language.
Familiarity with Microsoft platforms, PhotoShop, databases, and AV equipment.

Work schedule: The candidate will work at least two Saturdays a month during the period October through June, when CIMA is open to the public for tours. Some evening duties are also required.
