Under the general direction of the Director, Special Events, the Development Officer, Stewardship and Events is responsible for supporting the Development staff in strategic prospect cultivation and stewardship efforts, ranging from event conceptualization, to the delivery and management of stewardship initiatives, to providing the highest level of service and attention to the institution’s top donors.

The Development Officer will oversee and coordinate all aspects of donor recognition and acknowledgment for the Museum’s highest level donors which includes planning and executing approximately six Benefactor events per year. The qualified candidate will also strategically plan events for prospects and donors the institution would like to continue to steward in conjunction with the annual Shapiro Celebrity Lecture Series and other Public Lectures as well as the Patron Program. Other responsibilities include serving as the primary Development liaison with the curatorial departments on related to event programming. The Officer will also manage VIP Museum visits.

35+ hours/week; Mon-Fri, 9:00am-5:00pm; includes additional night and weekend hours, as required for events.

Qualifications:
Requirements include: Bachelor’s degree or equivalent, plus 3 to 5 years of demonstrated experience in development, stewardship, or event planning; strong project management experience; exceptional organizational skills and a demonstrated ability to handle multiple tasks fluidly; poise, maturity, flexibility, initiative and ability to work as a team player; strong client service orientation; creative, with an ability to generate new ideas; strong skills in trouble-shooting and problem-solving; excellent interpersonal communication skills; strong database management skills; ability to handle delicate and confidential information.
