Under the administrative direction of the Deputy Director, The Director of Facilities is responsible for multi-year planning, organizing, and controlling activities for all Facilities employees, outside contractors, and vendors to provide maintenance, construction, and utilities for all Museum buildings. The Director works closely with Management Team and Trustees to develop and manage a long-term budget, strategy, and schedule for renewal and replacement projects, including basic maintenance, life safety items, renovations and construction, code compliance, and energy saving initiatives.

The Director manages the busy and diverse Facilities Department, which consists of forty full-time employees in the areas of Facilities Administration, Buildings and Grounds, Construction, Electrical, Engineering, and Utility. The department is responsible for: daily operations and engineering of Museum buildings, renovations, new construction, management of the janitorial and housekeeping contract staff, capital maintenance, safety and repairs, movement and installations of works of art, and function setup.

Qualifications:
Requirements include 10 years experience managing the functions of a complex facility, preferably with experience and knowledge in the art museum field; demonstrated leadership supervising facilities staff; clear and professional communication and presentation style; ability to look at the big picture and stay mission-focused; calm demeanor and good sense of humor; willingness to work beyond normal working hours when emergencies arise.
