FLINT HILLS DISCOVERY CENTER

 

MARKETING COORDINATOR          (Regular Full-Time)              Starting Rate: $15.12/hr.

 

Position Purpose: The Marketing Coordinator is responsible for developing and administering marketing, public awareness and education surrounding the Flint Hills Discovery Center.  The candidate will be responsible for writing press releases; maintaining communication with media and journalism outlets; design branded promotional materials; public relations and outreach activities; website maintenance and social media marketing; special event planning; and other administrative tasks.

Requirements:  Excellent verbal communication and writing skills; ability to maintain effective relationships with staff, volunteers, education/tourism partners and media outlet representatives. Implement comprehensive marketing plans for exhibits, programs and events.  Design and post branded social media content and prepare analytical analysis reports. Create, maintain and update website content and monitor site visits using Google Analytics. Use public speaking skills to speak on camera and radio.  Participate in community/regional outreach events.  Project courteous and professional public image.  Proficient use of Microsoft Office Suite and design software including Adobe Illustrator.  Minimum of two (2) years marketing experience. Ability to lift and carry up to forty (40) pounds.  Maintain valid Kansas driver’s license. Regular full-time position (40 hours per week) reports to the FHDC Development Officer.
