Summer Internship: Environmental Education
Highfield Hall in Falmouth seeks a summer intern with environmental education expertise to assist the Education Coordinator in developing and teaching nature-based activities for Highfield’s new summer camp program for children ages 5–8. The internship requires a commitment of 20 hours in June for activity planning and six weeks of teaching during camp sessions (Monday through Friday, 8:30am–1:30pm, July 9 through August 16, 2012).

To qualify for this internship candidates must:

*   demonstrate a strong interest in environmental science and education
*   show enthusiasm for teaching young children
*   be comfortable working outdoors in all weather
*   be able to work independently and as part of a team
*   think creatively

A stipend of $1,000 will be offered to the appropriate candidate for a commitment of 140 hours. This is a brand-new program and a great resume-builder for a creative, self-motivated student who is pursuing a degree in environmental science and/or education and wishes to gain hands-on experience in an informal learning setting.
