Worcester Art Museum is seeking an energetic, solution oriented Human Resources Specialist to contribute to a small, versatile HR department supporting over 200 employees.  This full-time position (37 ½ hrs/week) will act as primary benefits administrator, lead assigned recruitment efforts, triage HR inquiries, carry out compliance initiatives and provide administrative support to the Human Resources Department.

The HR Specialist will have strong administrative and communication skills, the ability to deal with confidential and sensitive information and develop and maintain positive interpersonal relations with all levels of staff and outside contacts.  Utilizing strong organizational skills, the HR Specialist will improve office systems to both ensure readiness for and conduct HR audits.  The ability to work effectively both within teams and independently to accomplish goals and implement initiatives is essential.

Qualifications:

The successful candidate will have knowledge of federal and state laws and pay close attention to detail and accuracy.  Position requires BA or equivalent and two or more years of human resources experience.   Requires word processing, spreadsheet, and HRIS experience.
