Rockport Art Association, located in the heart of the cultural district in the thriving arts community of Rockport MA is looking to fill the position of executive director with an innovative, forward thinking leader.

The Rockport Art Association is a nonprofit cultural organization dedicated to the advancement of fine art through exhibitions, its museum collection, and educational programs.  Reporting to the Board of Directors, the executive director is the key management leader of the RAA and is responsible for overseeing its administration, exhibitions and programs, and for providing support and leadership to assist the Board in advancing the RAA’s mission.

Essential duties include supporting the activities of the Board of Governors by managing and communicating the long range plan and mission, expanding revenue generating and fund-raising activities with new and existing donors and resources, and representing the RAA to the community at large.  The executive director oversees the financial management and daily operations of the RAA and is responsible for staff and volunteers.

 

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS or equivalent experience
  • innovative and strategic thinking and negotiating skills
  • experience in fund-raising and donor cultivation
  • knowledge of best practices and entrepreneurial methods or funding the arts
  • strong communication skills: verbal, written and technological
  • strong operational management skills
