The Annual Fund Operations Manager is a key member of the Annual Giving team of The Trustees of Reservations. S/he will work closely with the Director of Annual Giving, department staff, and Trustees volunteers to execute a comprehensive annual strategy to achieve team and departmental goals, and to increase unrestricted philanthropy to The Trustees.

The Annual Fund Operations Manager reports to the Director of Annual Giving and manages the day to day operations of a $3 million annual fund. In addition, this position will be expected to provide key support for programmatic and fundraising activities, including volunteer recruitment and management, events, marketing, and external communications to donors and prospects.  S/he will also assist with gift solicitations as necessary, including assistance with the creation of proposals and stewardship activities.

Responsibilities:

The Annual Fund Operations Manager will:

  • Collaborate with Development and Marketing departments to execute The Trustees’ Giving Society’s annual direct mail campaign, including segregating mailing lists, creating collateral material, and coordinating with outside vendors (50% of time);
  • Develop high-end Raiser’s Edge skills to query, run reports, export data, and merge letters via the database (20% of time);
  • Strategize and coordinate action assignments for the Development team related to leadership annual gifts (15% of time);
  • Provide high-level customer service for giving society members and respond to routine donor inquires (5% of time);
  • Assist Development staff with management of the Annual Giving Committee and the Conservation Circle Steering Committee (10% of time);
  • Provide general development support work as needed and other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree required; Masters’ Degree preferred;
  • Two plus years of direct development/fundraising experience; experience in direct mail management and/or annual giving programs preferred;
  • Experience with databases required; knowledge of Raiser’s Edge strongly preferred;
  • Excellent written communication skills;
  • Demonstrated organizational skills and capacity to deal with multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment;
  • Energetic, creative individual with excellent organizational, computer, and interpersonal skills;
  • Strong attention to detail and ability to work confidentially with staff, volunteers, and donors.

Hours, Salary & Benefits:

Reporting to the Director of Annual Giving, this position is a full-time, exempt position. Time will be split between the Boston office at 200 High Street and the development office at Long Hill in Beverly, Massachusetts. The position requires occasional travel within Massachusetts and occasional night and weekend work, including a support role at signature annual events.
