Position Summary:
The American Museum of Natural History is seeking a Business Intelligence and Data Analyst. Reporting directly to the Senior Director of Finance and Administration, the successful candidate will possess the ability to perform complex analytical work in a fast-paced, high pressure environment, while maintaining a positive attitude. He / or she will play a vital role within the museum’s Institutional Advancement group.

Key Responsibilities:
-Develop, implement and maintain complex business intelligence models utilizing large pools of structured and un-structured data to help formulate strategy.
-Perform highly reliable quantitative and qualitative analysis, projections and plans, presenting interpretation and recommendations to senior management.
-Provide insightful analysis to resolve key management questions.
-Assist in the collection of new data and refinement of existing data sources.
-Perform data entry and maintain accurate records as required.
-Occasionally staff Institutional Advancement events.

Required Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree in statistics, mathematics, management science or related field.
At least one year of related work experience.
Strong problem-solving skills.
Strong attention to quantitative detail, and ability to think strategically.
Capable of managing multiple projects and prioritizing tasks in order to meet deadlines.
Knowledge of data mining and data modeling concepts and tools.
Understanding of business analytics and statistical methods and of relational databases, SQL, and Excel.
Considerate of the importance of confidentiality.
Ability to work both independently and collaboratively in support of a diverse team.
Exceptional communication and presentation skills.

Preferred Qualifications:
Knowledge of Raiser’s Edge and Tessitura a plus.
Knowledge of non-profit fundraising a plus.
