The Coastal Georgia Historical Society is seeking an energetic educator with a love of history to expand our public programming for adult group and school children tours.  The educator will engage visitors of all ages by customizing interpretation and activities and will also establish new relationships with schools and others groups in the region and state.

The St. Simons Lighthouse Museum is one of only 15 nationally accredited museums in the state of Georgia.  The Museum Educator will lead the effort to attract, train and schedule docents to provide interpretation and hospitality to everyone who visits our site.

Under the leadership of the Curator, the educator will assist with expanding the Society’s popular member programming.  Ideas for new programs include a winter lecture series, regular oral history programs, rotating exhibits, and field trips to historic sites.

The Society is seeking a highly motivated team player who is passionate about our mission to “present and interpret the history and culture of coastal Georgia.”  A Master’s degree in museum studies or education and 3-5 years in museum education is preferred.  Please submit a resume with cover letter and salary requirements to heather@teamworkservicesinc.com.
