The Cambridge Arts Council is offering a paid conservation internship or technician position for 6 weeks in late spring-early summer to assist with the annual documentation, maintenance, and treatment of its 200+ objects in the public art collection. The work will include the assessment, routine maintenance, and conservation treatment of bronzes, mosaics, murals, stone, painted steel and digital art. The technician will be working with a team of 2 experienced technicians and the Collections Care Specialist under the supervision of the Director of Art Conservation for 3 days per week beginning May 13 and ending June 28. This is a great summer job for art students interested in public art or pre-program art conservation students.
Qualifications:
Some experience with conservation or collection care is desirable, ability to work all day outdoors needed, good energy and a sense of humor essential.  Some knowledge of digital photography, Excel, and Photoshop would be helpful.
