MASS MoCA seeks full-time interns for various departments. Spend any season in the culturally rich, naturally beautiful Berkshires, while gaining invaluable professional experience in the arts. Paid interns are given $100/week stipend and free housing within a block of the complex (cable, internet, and utilities included). Internship dates: June 1st, 2015- August 31, 2015.

 

Qualifications:

The summer internship is an opportunity for current or recently graduated college student who want to explore the dynamic world of museum education. The summer intern is primarily responsible for interacting with the public by conducting conversational-style tours in the main galleries, serving at the information desk, and running public hours in Kidspace, helping visitors explore the exhibition and create their own works of art at the drop-in ArtBar. The interns also help with teen programs including the month-long Teen Artist Residency, and other public programs as needed. The intern is also assigned specific projects that may include preparing materials for programs, writing tour guide information packets, and conducting research on artists and educational programs. Successful candidates should be self-sufficient, have an eye for detail, strong oral, writing, and research skills, an enthusiasm for public speaking, and strong customer service skills. Preference is given to candidates with museum / art education experience. Weekend hours required.
