Exhibit Developer [Split Rock Studios]

Split Rock Studios, an exhibit design/build firm in the Twin Cities, is looking for an experienced and creative exhibit developer/interpretive writer to join our team. SRS specializes in creating high-quality natural and cultural history exhibitions for museums and visitor centers across the country.

Candidate Requirements
This position requires an appropriate bachelor’s degree (master’s preferred) and a minimum of 3–5 years of experience developing interpretive exhibits. Interpretive master planning experience a plus. SRS exhibit developers are expected to work on both natural and cultural history projects. However, special consideration will be given to candidates with a background in natural history or environmental education.

A broad range of skills is required for this position, including:

• Facilitating meetings with clients and stakeholders to develop interpretive themes, objective, and storylines.
• Rapidly assimilating knowledge on a broad range of topics.
• Brainstorming and developing exhibit ideas and high- and low-tech interactives to fulfill interpretive goals and fit within the project budget.
• Producing written materials including: themes, goals, and objectives; visitor experience conceptual narratives; content outlines; exhibit component descriptions; audiovisual and interactive descriptions; and interpretive label copy.
• Maintaining and tracking exhibit scripts and artifact and image matrices.
• Photo sourcing and acquisition.
• Proofreading and editing copy accurately, displaying a thorough knowledge of grammar.
• Preparing and making client presentations, as well as for occasional sales calls.
