The Partnership Development Manager will drive new and strengthen existing relationships with key Museum growth partners such as civic, cultural and religious organizations,and small business to raise awareness of the Museum’s vision and mission. He/She will create programming and materials in collaboration with partners to enhance audience development. He/She will be the external face of the museum in the community promoting the Museum’s mission and brand. The position offers a competitive salary, good benefits, and a positive work environment.

 

Primary Job Functions

Drive the development and implement strategic partnership outreach and community based programs that will increase audience reach and museum attendance and integrate with Museum marketing, public programs and education activities, working closely with senior staff and Museum leadership.

  • Build the strategic outreach plan, prioritize audiences & develop impactful programming.
  • Nurture existing and build new relationships with local community organizations (senior, religious, cultural) and tourism industry (e.g. hotels, airports, other local attractions) to provide Museum information to enhance attendance and coordinate events and group tours.
  • Write & design effective sales and program materials and coordinate implementation of programs & partnerships by working in partnership with the Marketing, Education, Development, and Operations departments.
  • Coordinate volunteers necessary for program implementation.
  • Assess the success of the programs implemented using data analysis.
  • Supervise volunteers and other employees engaged in outreach activities.

Job Requirements

Required Qualifications

Candidate should possess all of the following:

  • Bachelor’s degree in business, marketing, communications, or related field.
  • Three to five years previous work experience in partnership development (marketing, communications or public relations experience a plus).
  • Excellent understanding of program strategy and development, and ability to think strategically and creatively.
  • Demonstrated and quantifiable success in achieving results from community partnership initiatives (Established relationships in the local community a major plus!).
  • Self-starter with excellent organization skills.
  • Exceptional written & oral communications skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships both internally and externally.
  • Availability to work evenings and weekends as needed.
