We are currently seeking an outgoing, dynamic and motivated individual to fill the role of Events & Outreach Coordinator.  The Events & Outreach Coordinator will work directly with clients, visitors and internal staff to ensure that our clients and visitors enjoy the highest quality visitor experience.

Duties include, but are not limited to, managing the rental of Cemetery facilities for all non-funeral uses, including wedding ceremonies and private events, assisting in the planning and execution of public programs and special events, coordinating set-up needs and audio-visual and technical support at all public programs and ensuring adequate staffing for public programs and memorial services.  Additionally, the Coordinator manages the scheduling of group visits, requests for permission to take photographs at the Cemetery and manages income received through weddings, group tours, and public programs and filming.  This role also offers the opportunity to exercise your creative side as you will assist in the development of new outreach activities to attract new audiences to Mount Auburn.

Qualifications:

Required Qualifications:  A bachelor’s degree or equivalent plus a minimum of 3 years’ relevant work experience, demonstrated computer proficiency with Microsoft Office.  Familiarity with WordPress and ability to use the Web and social media are highly desirable.  Candidates must have excellent communication skills, previous experience handling financial transactions, managing inventories, and dealing with the public.  The ability to resolve problems and remain calm and professional in any situation is critical.  An interest in social history, natural history and/or horticulture is highly desirable.  A willingness to become familiar and knowledgeable with Mount Auburn Cemetery is essential.

This is a fulltime (40-hours per week) position with a work schedule of Tuesday through Saturday and may require working Sundays and/or evenings for special events.  A valid drivers’ license is required.
