Director of Convergent Programming [Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago]

The Museum of Contemporary Art Chicago (MCA) seeks a full-time Director of Convergent Programming to analyze, create and implement systems to assure smooth and effective operation of MCA programs across departments, under supervision of the James W. Alsdorf Chief Curator. The Director of Convergent Programming will create structures to support convergent activities and bring greater intentionality and efficiency to cross-departmental and multi-departmental collaborations. S/he will direct and coordinate major administrative aspects of Curatorial, Performance and Education programs and other program-generating areas to effect cohesive programmatic operations and assure alignment with institutional mission and goals.  S/he will be responsible for leadership of Exhibition Project Team program management, the Artist Residency program, and special museum-wide initiatives. S/he will also monitor and supervise the Library staff to help ensure that long-term strategic program initiatives are addressed, including the digital archive and library management, and other special projects as they arise.

Bachelor of Arts degree in art history, arts education, performance programs, not-for-profit management, or arts administration required. Advanced degree in Art History, Curatorial Studies, Arts Management or Business Administration preferred. Minimum 5-7 years in an art museum program management position. Demonstrated team leadership and excellent written and verbal communications skills required. S/he must have proven ability to lead projects from conception to completion and effective organizational and problem-solving skills are necessary. General mobility throughout museum required. Full-time schedule is Monday through Friday, 9am-5pm with events as required.
