The mission of the Rhode Island Historical Society is to honor, interpret, and share Rhode Island’s past to enrich the present and inspire the future. Our collections serve as the foundation of this work, and our staff strives each day to not only care for our extraordinary collections, but also to connect the community with them. Currently, we seek a new coordinator for the newly named and freshly renovated Robinson Research Center at 121 Hope Street in Providence. The successful candidate will help organize and manage many of the ways our researchers connect to our collections, while overseeing the daily operations of the Research Center facility. The Research Center serves patrons from diverse backgrounds and offers programs and services for their variety of research needs – with scholarly research and genealogy being of particular interest. The ideal candidate will understand the power of using material culture – and in particular manuscripts, graphics, film, and printed materials – to educate, inspire, and engage the public.
