Paul Griswold Howes Fellow

We welcome applications for the first Paul Griswold Howes Fellow, a new position at the Bruce Museum. This Fellow will be responsible for creating and implementing exhibition related programs and content with an emphasis on science. She/he will work with the Curator of Science to create and enhance program offerings, design and implement individual in-house and outreach programs, and provide support with creating and organizing materials for exhibition guidebooks, visitor activities, outreach blogs, and other venues. She/he will coordinate with partner organizations as needed to achieve goals such as joint events, securing specimens, and attracting new audiences. Knowledge and skills: Excellent verbal, written and organizational skills. Strong command of standard office required, experience with graphical software and very basic coding preferred. Teaching experience, which may include K-12 teaching, university teaching assistantships, and/or museum outreach. Current driver’s license required. Education and Experience: Master’s Degree in museum studies, education, or the sciences. Previous experience working in a museum or nonprofit setting strongly preferred. Previous experience working with natural history collection objects preferred. Full-time, exempt, subject to comp/flex-time. Term: September 1, 2015 to June 30, 2016.
