Gallery Learning Museum Educator

Description:
Under the direction of the Head of Gallery Learning and the Manager of Family Programs, the Museum Educator will teach in Gallery Learning programs, art activities and events for children, families and adults. Programs can include: School Vacation Week Adventures, Family Art Cart, MFA Playdates, Artist Toolbox Cart, Drawing in the Galleries, Artist Demonstrations, and other various events and programs. This position will work with Gallery Learning staff to facilitate and teach programs and interact with visitors, offering information, answering questions and creating an enriching museum learning experience.
Qualifications:
B.A. or B.F.A. in art education, education, studio art; strong organizational and interpersonal skills; flexibility, patience and self motivation; experience teaching and working with children; studio art experience preferred; 1 to 3 years of museum experience or similar education environment preferred; ability to work evenings, weekends and/or holidays; ability to attend staff trainings.
