Education Coordinator

Description:
The Hanover Historical Society is seeking a part-time Education Coordinator. Reporting to the Executive Director, the Education Coordinator will be responsible for developing, promoting, and implementing educational programs. This will include general and specialized tours for school groups, visitors, and community organizations, as well as special events for children and youth. As needed, the Education Coordinator will assist with collections management, social media outreach, exhibits, and museum interpretation. This is a part-time position; 12 hours/week with availability on Saturdays when programs are scheduled.
Qualifications:
Qualifications include: B.A. in history, museum studies, or related field; two or more years of experience in museum education and public programs; an enthusiasm for teaching American history and working with children and youth; strong research, writing, and interpersonal skills; and familiarity with social media tools. The ideal candidate will be self-motivated, flexible, and creative, while maintaining a high level of attention to detail.
