Job Description

Associate Director. The John L. Warfield Center for African and African American Studies (WCAAAS) Associate Director serves as the Executive Director of the Warfield Center Gallery; supports the Director in shaping the Center’s vision, identity, and programming; participates in and co-coordinates strategic planning; and sustains relationships with students, faculty, university administration, staff, and community members.

Works with the Director to create a positive community and envision new resources for faculty and students for the Gallery and for the Center. Oversees temporary and permanent staffing of exhibitions and related programming, including art preparators, curators, registrars, and security. Coordinates business operations directly associated with the Center. Generates a culture of professionalism and community for gender and racial justice by working with faculty, students, and staff; manages programming. Assists in planning and executing development strategies, events, and meetings for individual, foundation, and/or corporate sponsorship.
