Exhibit Developer

Description:
MIT Museum seeks an Exhibit Developer experienced in dynamic environments that interpret art and science with an emphasis on interactive experiences and interpretation of collections. Reporting to the Director of Galleries & Exhibitions, position is responsible for supporting development of museum exhibits through exhibit research, content, and experience development. Responsibilities: Research educational, scientific, and technological content. Develop and document exhibit experience concepts and their operation. Advocate for educational and visitor experience goals as represented through design. Write and edit exhibit copy. Assist with exhibit prototyping and conduct evaluation. Develop project reports and other communication materials. Research exhibit resources and assist with development of exhibit ideas and programs. Research, track, and manage artifacts as needed. Develop scripts and work closely with multimedia producers. Ensure that exhibits are experientially engaging and scientifically accurate. Qualifications:
BA/BS (MA/MS preferred) in science, math, engineering, science education, social sciences, or a field related to informal teaching and learning. Willingness and ability to work as part of a team and collaborate with researchers and non-specialists. Minimum of 3+ years of experience developing museum exhibitions, preferably in interactive science or art environments. Excellent oral, written, interpersonal, research, and organizational skills. Must be detail oriented, self-motivated, conscientious, thorough, task-focused, and able to manage multiple demands. Technical proficiency with MS Office including Word, Excel, PPT and Google docs.
