Working closely with department managers, the Online Giving Coordinator is responsible for carrying out all aspects of our online program to meet or exceed membership and fundraising revenue goals. Coordinates efforts for web pages, giving forms and online communications (email and social media), including content development, testing and tracking performance. Also participates in Aquarium work group for online communications.

Essential Functions:

  • Coordinates regular email communications to members and donors of all levels: Writes and proofreads copy; manages data; sets up and sends emails through email service provider
  • Carries out online fundraising appeals and membership drives including email sends, social media content, development of giving forms and confirmation pages
  • Tracks and evaluates online giving and communications efforts; provides reports with results on monthly basis
  • Monitors best practices for online communications and recommends specific strategies/tactics to support membership and fundraising goals
  • Recommends changes to schedules, copy, format and/or navigation based on results
  • Coordinates department’s calendar of online communications, including collaboration with Communications staff for social media
  • Works with web team to create and monitor results of membership and fundraising pages
  • Develops campaign-specific online giving forms for membership and fundraising efforts; works with web technical team for implementation of forms.
  • Working with Membership Manager, participates in Online Strategy Group to ensure that Membership and Development goals are represented in Aquarium-wide
  • Online communications, including general email communications and social media
  • Assists with events for donors and members
  • Assists with special projects as needed

Required Knowledge/Experience:

  • Minimum four year degree or equivalent experience
  • Minimum two years’ experience in online fundraising or digital marketing, preferably within a nonprofit organization
  • Excellent communication, writing and customer service skills
  • Proficient in administration of an email service provider and data base program
  • Microsoft Office proficiency
  • Must be able to multi-task and prioritize responsibilities while working in a fast paced environment
  • Demonstrated success working as a part of a team
  • Excellent customer service and written/oral communication skills
