Title:                           Visitor Experience Coordinator

Classification:            Full Time, Non-Exempt

Location:                    Hockessin, Delaware

Schedule:                    M-F (40 hrs/week)

Mt. Cuba Center seeks an enthusiastic Visitor Experience Coordinator who will provide excellent skills and services in support of the Visitor Experience Team. Mt. Cuba Center is a botanical garden that inspires an appreciation of the beauty and value of native plants and a commitment to protect the habitats that sustain them.

Description:

The Visitor Experience Coordinator serves as an ambassador for Mt. Cuba Center by providing outstanding customer service to garden visitors. The Coordinator supports the operations of the Visitor Experience Department through direct visitor interaction and by performing critical administrative functions.

Responsibilities:

  • Serves as an ambassador for Mt. Cuba Center to stakeholders via email, telephone, and in person
  • Acts as a concierge for group sales (garden tours, facility rentals, Mt. Cuba Center Talks), generating excitement for a group’s visit and working with them to make all arrangements. This includes responding to inquiries via email and telephone, helping groups to plan itineraries, using Blackbaud Altru software to complete bookings, working with Facility and Event Coordinator for boxed lunch orders, and collecting payments in advance of group visits
  • Manages the Visitor Experience Blackbaud Altru database for ticketing, constituent management and attendance tracking
  • Maintains all visitor events on Mt. Cuba Center’s Institutional Calendar
  • Serves our most loyal visitors through administration of the Season Pass program
  • Facilitates department communication by preparing weekly Visitor Experience Department Newsletter
  • Prepares regular attendance and revenue reports
  • Processes donation requests on behalf of Mt. Cuba Center
  • Purchases and distributes MCC Employee Uniforms
  • Supports visitor programs and events as required, including Supervisory shifts
  • Purchases  supplies including Mt. Cuba Center merchandise
  • Provides department administrative support

Education, Skills, Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree or higher from an accredited college or university in horticulture, business administration, hospitality management or related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum 2 years’ experience in guest services or related field preferred.
  • Ability and willingness to work weekends, holidays and special events as needed.
  • Excellent interpersonal skills and the ability to effectively communicate with the staff and the public
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills, attention to detail and accuracy
  • Proficiency in MS Office Suite is required; Experience in Adobe Suite is preferred.
  • Ability to quickly learn and adapt to multiple technology and software systems. Experience with ticketing systems, Blackbaud Altru, and scheduling systems is desirable.
  • Horticultural knowledge preferred and practical work experience in public garden or another cultural institution is desired.
  • Valid driver’s license.

Date Available:  Immediately
