Gallery Teaching Internship

Description:
DeCordova’s Learning and Engagement Department is seeking a dynamic, motivated graduate or college (juniors and seniors only) student for assistance in inquiry-based learning opportunities in the Museum galleries and 30-acre Sculpture Park of a contemporary art museum.

Responsibilities include: facilitating interactions with a range of age levels from children to adults, researching artists and exhibition-related content, assisting with Museum Guide trainings, facilitating school group activities in the Museum, assisting with indoor and outdoor public programs, and support of day-to-day operations.

Qualifications:
Qualifications include: teaching experience, strong organizational and computer skills, ability to communicate efficiently and effectively (written and verbal), the ability to work independently, and comfortable interacting with people of all ages. Internship is available for January – April 2016. 16 hours/week minimum commitment including select evenings and weekends.

Interns are unpaid but receive deCordova Membership discounts and benefits.
