VICE PRESIDENT OF DEVELOPMENT

Development Department

Full-time Position with Benefits

 

The perfect candidate for this position is a relationship-builder who enjoys asking for funding for causes they are passionate about, is confident they can increase donor retention by 20% and membership retention by 25%, and is up for the challenge of raising 7MM for MOSI in the next 12 months.

 

Responsibilities Include:

  • Holistic plan for all philanthropy including membership, corporate, individual, planned giving, foundations grants, public funding and events
  • Execution of the plan, leading a team of 8 people including the CEO to exceed all goals
  • Use proven experience in strategic philanthropy planning and execution to work with MOSI VP’s to identify and prioritize funding needs for the organization
  • Develop and manage departmental budget to achieve goals while controlling costs
  • Build team for the future

 

Expected Outcomes:

  • 30 days – analyze the current donor base and prioritize the top 50 donors with staff
  • 90 days – Work with iwave and donor history to establish a plan for each donor and assign the RACI model
  • 6 months – Secure 75% of current year goals in formal pledges
  • 1 year – Secure 100% of current goal and 50% of FY16 goal

 

 

Job Requirements

Experience:

  • 10+ years of fund development
  • 5+ years of leading and coaching high performing teams
  • Demonstrated reputation with donor stewardship
  • Proven track record in major gifts exceeding 1MM
  • Demonstrated ability in development metrics and processes

Skills:

  • Ability to manage up to CEO and board members
  • Able to report and analyze data
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills
  • Strong relationship building skills with team, donors and families
  • Organized and flexible under pressure; ability to manage acquisition, stewardship and retention, prioritizing where needed and actively problem solving
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office and Raiser’s Edge
