Description

Hagley seeks an experienced, energized science educator to create and lead science-based public programming that incorporates the history and process of innovation into the experience.  Largely an outdoor historic engineering site, Hagley tells the stories of invention and innovation over time.  This position is responsible for a series of existing public programs and will be tasked with creating and launching a new Maker Faire and developing hands-on programming for a new Maker Space. Requirements

Experienced in planning, developing, executing, and evaluating high quality family programs in a science museum/institution; excellent interpersonal, communication, and presentation skills including an ability to communicate scientific principles to a general/diverse audience; ability to work with children and families efficiently with enjoyment; professional with a good sense of humor; understanding of the value of community partnerships; ability to work indoors and outdoors, lift up to 30lbs, stand/walk for extensive periods of time; strong computer skills/Microsoft package; able to work Monday through Friday with flexible schedule when necessary to accommodate weekend/evening events; valid driver’s license and own transportation; MScEd or BScEd preferred or degree in Education, Science, History, or Museum Studies with strong interest and background in STEM education.  Supervisory experience preferred.
