We are searching for a high-energy Project Coordinator who wants to grow into a Project Manager.

Position Summary

This position supports internal project teams and the Project Management Department. As a team member training to transition to the job of Project Manager, the ideal candidate will be a partner to the Project Manager by facilitating strong, clear, and positive communication—especially as related to project progress, schedule, budget, assets, and goals—and helps internal project teams understand client needs.

Required Abilities & Responsibilities

  • Serve as the client’s advocate in all internal meetings and in the product development process
  • Maintain all project documentation, plans, correspondence, meeting notes, executive summaries, relevant assets, and reports
  • Ensures that project priorities and decisions are communicated
  • Document and track decisions, approvals, and action items from meetings, calls, etc.
  • Research client and potential client stakeholders and issue executive summary reports
  • Analyze client, project, vendor, and industry/market data and issue executive summary reports
  • Assist with project budgeting and component estimating, including research surrounding sourcing of unique materials and services
  • Must understand complex internal and external dynamics and relationships and work to build a positive, trusting team environment
  • Excellent communication and organizational skills, with high aptitude for management
  • Adaptable, versatile, and capable of keeping projects focused on objectives
  • Excellent attention to detail in an environment with rapidly changing data
  • Over time, ideal candidate will directly manage parts of a project or fully manage a small project, under the supervision of the Project Manager
Requirements

Education and Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree in business management or related field
  • 2+ years of project coordination, business management, communications, or related experience
  • Experience in construction, media production, design, museum exhibits, non-profits, or corporate
  • A part of a continually developed and updated Professional Development growth plan, should participate in a Project Management PD class, workshop, or conference within first year of hire


Specialized Skills

  • Must have excellent Microsoft Office suite skills
  • Aptitude to learn and develop strong scheduling software and budgeting software skills
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills, including the ability to support the team in giving presentations and developing internal and external deliverables. Must be able to represent the company at community and promotional events
  • Understands the design industry, including content, design, media production, and construction
  • Creativity and the ability to develop innovative solutions to client demands
  • High aptitude for strategic thinking and task management
  • Strong capacity for budgeting and understanding Company and project profit goals
  • Excellent scheduling, time management, and capacity analysis skills
  • Ability to travel domestically, both by airplane and automobile
