Audience Engagement Assistant

Description:
The Museum seeks a dynamic, full-time (37.5 hours per week) Audience Engagement Assistant to provide administrative and project support to the Director of Audience Engagement (DAE) and support day-to-day operations of the Audience Engagement Division. The position will plan and balance the DAE’s schedule and calendar; edit and proofread correspondence, reports and publications; oversee the distribution of mail; manage the office supply inventory; maintain department files; and assist DAE with the goals and objectives assigned to the AE Division from the long range and annual Strategic Plans.

The Audience Engagement Assistant will also organize and prioritize large volumes of email, telephone calls, and correspondence, and answer calls within scope of position or direct to appropriate staff. Other duties include assist DAE in preparation of weekly, division, and board committee meetings; and act as a resource to internal and external constituents regarding Audience Engagement programs, including Studio Class offerings, marketing, and events.

Qualifications:
The successful candidate must have a two year degree, bachelor’s degree preferred. Minimum of three or more years in an administrative support position. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, including editing skills .Must have strong interpersonal skills and be able to respond and thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, and rapidly changing environment. Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously with an eye for detail is essential.Knowledge of office systems and specialized applications including spreadsheets (Excel), PowerPoint, Databases, etc. is a must.
