Volunteers: Installation Committee

Description:
The Griffin Museum is seeking 5 installation committee members to augment its current installation committee. The installation committee members hang on average 5 Main Gallery installations a year. Each installation usually takes place over a two week period. Installation includes doing condition reports of artwork, preparation of walls, framing material, hanging material and signage, lighting the exhibition, preparing the gallery for openings and deinstallation of exhibitions.
Qualifications:
Individuals must be able to provide care to all art work and the museum wall structure. We seek detail oriented people who can help plan the exhibition and execute the plan. Individuals should be able to handle tools, climb ladders and lift framed artwork. The museum staff will train individuals who have a passion for photography and a willingness to learn.
