Description
The American Alliance of Museums seeks a collaborative and engaging Director of IT to lead and direct AAM’s diverse technology needs in support of our varied business and programmatic activities. Reporting to the VP, Finance & Operations, the Director of IT will oversee the management of multi-phased and multi-departmental projects; maintain existing systems and infrastructure; manage two direct reports as well as vendors and external contractors; and plan and carry out new initiatives that support our national membership, maximizing technology automation online including software development, SaaS applications and connectivity.
The successful candidate will demonstrate a unique blend of technical and management skills including: the ability to simultaneously plan and implement projects; provide leadership and direction for technology projects yet take a “hands-on” approach when needed; ability to communicate IT concepts clearly to a variety of users; ability to think strategically and implement organization-wide initiatives while also focusing on improving the individual user experience.
Requirements
Requires Bachelor’s degree in Information Systems or related field (advanced degree and/or certification preferred); 7 years of information technology experience in a not-for-profit organization including proven experience planning, managing and evaluating complex projects in a fast paced environment; managing database, network content and web management systems and supervisory experience. Must have working knowledge of the following: ERP/CRM/AMS, LAN/WAN, VoIP, AV Systems, hardware/software; process redesign/workflow; Server Applications – Active Directory, Exchange, .NET, SQL, Client Applications – MS Office, Visio, Project.
