Description

Overall responsibilities:       

For the post-graduate internship in Museum Studies duties will include work on the Baum’s permanent art collection and   assisting with enhancing the Baum’s educational offerings, with promotional efforts for the Baum, and with general gallery operations under the direction and mentorship of the Gallery Director. In addition, the selected individual may choose to focus on the role of 1) curator, 2) collections manager, 3) registrar, 4) educator, or 5) operations coordinator for the museum.

Term of employment: 1 Academic Year (2 Semesters: Fall 2016 and Spring 2017)

Hours Required:  A minimum of 20 hours per week

Payment: Interns will be paid $6000 per year

Start Date: Intern will begin August 2016

Required Qualifications:

  • Recent graduate in an art-related field (1-3 years) from an accredited college or university

  • Computer proficiency; knowledge of graphic design programs helpful
  • Strong work ethic
  • Interest in contemporary art a plus
