Part-Time Functions Associate-Lyman Estate

Description:
The Part-Time Functions Associate is responsible for supervising functions for Historic New England’s Lyman Estate in Waltham, Massachusetts. The Functions Associate is responsible for opening the property, meeting and assisting vendors, greeting and directing guests as well as monitoring event and making sure that vendors are working within Historic New England’s site requirements. Supervisor and monitor functions including pre-function setup, guest arrival, vendor/guest activity, guest departure, and vendor departure

Qualifications:
Requires an Associate’s degree and 3+ years of job-related experience. Must be personable and enjoy working with people. Requires a high degree of skill and experience in presenting and selling to prospective clients. Ability and desire to work with the public with the highest standards for customer service. Requires exceptional tact, diplomacy, personal presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to multi-task; ability to work well under stress/pressure while remaining calm and focused. Requires strong organizational and verbal communication skills. Due to the scheduling nature of events, a high level of flexibility is required.

WORK ENVIRONMENT:

This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position with weekend and evening work frequently required. This position regularly requires talking, hearing, smelling, sitting, standing, walking, and bending/stooping. The position also involves lifting up to 50 pounds. The position also requires constantly reading documents for general understanding.
