Description:
Historic New England seeks a detail-oriented Development Operations Assistant to join our development team.The Development Operations Assistantis the primary support position for fund raising programs, organizing and executinggift acknowledgments, mailings, maintaining electronic and paper files,updating database information, and interacting with internal and external constituents to fulfill the responsibilities of the position. The individual will assist in the cultivation, stewardship, and solicitation of donors and prospects, including executing administrative tasks such as letters and donor communications. Respond tophone and email inquiries from members and donors. Provide event support where needed. Maintain information in Raiser’s Edge database for records including address changes,constituency coding, biographical information, program and site event participation, e-mail addresses, and affinity codes. Produce and mail gift acknowledgment letters with accuracy and timeliness.Process occasional restricted gifts and grants.Manage administrative aspects of the Council including membership and mailing lists, welcome and renewal letters, and meeting operations. Fulfill membership packages for Appleton Circle, Ogden Codman Design Group and Young Friends. Create and distribute daily gift logs. Process daily gift deposits. Assist with team planning and organization, including scheduling and agenda, maintaining action file and visit reports, maintaininginventory of supplies, maintaining team expense files, andupdating selectdevelopmentinformation on the Historic New England web site. Coordinate and support governance-related programs and meetings as assigned by administration. Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Bachelor’s degree and two years of job-related experience, preferably on a development team. Extremely organized and able to thrive in a fast-paced setting while maintaining precise attention to procedures, priorities, formats, details and quality. Excellent interpersonal communication, writing skills, tact and diplomacy for regular interaction with high-level internal and external constituents. Excellent internal and external customer service skills. Ability to maintain a high level of confidentiality. Fully competent computer skills including advanced use of MS Word and Excel spreadsheet functions, databases, internet research, and e-mail management. Prior experience with Raiser’s Edge software or other development/membership database is desirable. Valid driver’s license is required.
