SUMMARY STATEMENT:

Observatory Program Presenters facilitate fun astronomy learning experiences at the Museum’s Gilliland Observatory for several thousand visitors annually. Observatory Program Presenters operate the Observatory’s primary telescope as well as portable telescopes, and facilitate a range of interpretive astronomy programs with the visitors. The relatively isolated location of the Observatory on the roof of the garage means that the team needs to monitor the audience for any problems, particularly ones that are safety related, and make judgments on appropriate methods for resolving problems, sometimes in collaboration with Security and Visitor Services staff.
