Description
  • Oversee museum’s financial operations, human resources, benefits, insurance and information technology.
  • Develop and implement fundraising and cost-cutting strategies.
  • Manage all accounting functions including accounts receivable, accounts payable, payroll, and general ledger.
  • Supervise year-end audit and tax reporting, including physical inventory of retail stores.
  • Oversee benefits administration, including health plan, dental, disability, workers comp, 403b, and flexible spending program.
  • Provide cash and debt management.
  • Preparation and monitoring museum operating budget and provide reporting and projections.
  • Develop exhibition budgets with curatorial and registrarial staff.
  • Report to the museum board on the operating budget.
  • Work closely with the museum’s retail stores on inventory, pricing and financial management.
  • Review contracts and work with outside counsel.
  • Negotiate building insurance policy and coordinate insurance claims.
  • Develop information technology plan with outsourced IT provider.
  • Oversee the Finance Manager and IT engineer.
