Project Summary: An internship with the lifelong learning team will primarily involve: supporting museum access and lifelong learning initiatives and programs. The intern selected would gain experience in running a conference, grant writing and reporting process through research and writing, and developing and running public programs for lifelong learners and people living with memory loss.

Student Responsibilities:

 

  • Evaluation entry and data collection
  • Assisting and preparing for public programs
  • Grant writing
  • internet research
  • Other duties as assigned

Knowledge intern is expected to gain:

 

  • An understanding of the grant writing and reporting process (essential in non-profits!)
  • outreach programs and what it takes to run them
  • A understanding of the importance of evaluation and how we do it

 

Ideal degrees:   Working towards a degree in communications, education, or marketing

 Student Qualifications: 

  • Excellent written/verbal communication skills
  • Comfortable conversing and working with people of diverse physical and cognitive abilities
  • Reliable
  • Flexible, you never know what will come up in our department!
  • A good attitude
